Frozen to Fabulous: Make-Ahead Breakfast Sandwiches

Making sure you eat a hot and hearty breakfast is a great plan. But let’s be honest, it’s downright impossible for most people to make decent meal before running out the door. Mornings are hectic, and there just isn’t enough time to make something hot. You wake up late, kids miss the bus, dog chews up the boots you were going to wear … it happens. We’ve been there.

But these make-ahead breakfast sandwiches will change your life (or at least your morning routine). If you take a little time on the weekend to prep a few (maybe after the kids go to bed), you’ll be able to grab-and-go even on the most hectic weekday morning. These sandwiches go from the freezer to hot and toasty in just a couple minutes.

Just make your sandwiches the way you normally would. The Dual Breakfast Sandwich Maker cuts your cook time in half, and is perfect if you plan on making a couple weeks worth of breakfast sammies. The basic meat/egg/cheese combination is a favorite in my house, but if you prefer a lighter breakfast you can use whole wheat english muffins and add spinach or peppers instead of the ham, bacon or sausage.

Let the sandwiches cool to room temperature and wrap individually. Then put them in a bag and store them in the freezer. When it’s time for a quick breakfast, just remove one, wrap it in a paper towel and defrost in the microwave for a minute and a half. Then, cook on high for about 1 minute. No time to microwave at home? Grab one and bring it to work with you and put your coworker’s instant oatmeal to shame.

Sure, you could just buy the pre-made frozen breakfast sandwiches. Or maybe even hit the drive-through on your way to work. But making your own allows you to control the ingredients so you know exactly what you’re going to eat. Extra cheese, sliced tomato, turkey bacon, whole wheat English muffin, any option is possible when you use the breakfast sandwich maker. You might save a little bit of money, too. Maybe enough to buy a new pair of boots.

The Dual Breakfast Sandwich Maker is all about making fresh breakfast sandwiches you can grab and go. Just choose your bread and layer on the fixings: egg, cheese, precooked meat, or the ingredients of your choice. Cook two breakfast sandwiches to perfection and to your preferences, and know when it’s ready with the built-in digital timer. In five minutes or less, two perfectly assembled breakfast sandwiches are ready to eat.
